The beaver

I was wondering what is so important about the location of the dam that someone must so aggressively protect it. So I checked out Google Maps. And I still don't see why anyone is concerned about our dam builder.

Evans Creek meanders south beside SR202 between crossing under the highway. When Redmond-Fall City road was widened and raised, a large area to the north was turned into a wetland. Evans Creek drains that area as well as land upstream.

As you can see from the satellite image, an expansion of the creek appears not to threaten anything.

Obviously, Evans Creek is the lowest part of the area, and farmland and houses are well above the level of the creek.

A view of the dam from the air. It's near the road next to the light-colored logs.

The logs next to the dam are obvious here.
