There is little disagreement among scientists and careful observers that over the last 50 years climates all over the world have been changing and that these changes are not normal cyclical shifts. They are part of a long-term heating of the global atmosphere.

Whether these changes are caused by human actions or by little green men from outer space is irrelevant.

A second long-term trend is population growth, which increases demands on food production and use of energy sources.

Climate change and population growth will affect all businesses, their financial performance and the investment prospects.

Some businesses are already in decline because of atmospberic changes. Some will see improved prospects for some time as a result of these changes.

I hope in the discussions on this blog we can identify some industries and some companies that will for some time continue to be good investments.

I am interested in the ideas of anyone who cares to join this discussion.
